An Ebay purchase from Brooklyn, New York. This appears to be a very early McManus Brothers photograph, with a negative number of 451. The man is standing against a plain backdrop. The feet for the posing stand or head rest are visible between his legs and the right of his left foot. This device helped hold the person's head still during a long exposure. The McManus Brothers photography studio opened in 1873, probably suggesting this photo was taken in the 1874 to 1875 time span.
